If you could own just one album, what would it be?

What about a t-shirt?

A jacket, a hat or a pair of shoes?

These are the kind of questions we have been asking,” shares The Glitter & Gold‘s Creative Director Riley Fitzgerald

Setting up this online store has really been a learning experience.”

A New Way of Doing Things

The Glitter and Gold’s new store looks to distance itself from unsustainable fast-fashion and the wasteful mindset of many online retailers.

Instead, The Glitter and Gold’s specially curated collection of music, clothing and pop culture memorabilia will take a more-is-less approach.

We’re not trying to stock 50,000 vinyl records,” Riley Fitzgerald enthuses, “just that one you really want.”

“The goal is to bring together unique and unusual items which really speak to the music fan within.”

Gifts From Cyberspace

Now live on The Glitter & Gold website, the store stocks a wide range of items.

It includes several rarities

Amongst them are artist-signed albums from Pink FloydTaylor Swift and Billie Eilish

The store will also collect hard-to-find releases by Tame ImpalaFrank OceanTravis Scott and Dua Lipa

Complimenting these is a range of clothing items from artist-exclusive drops and big-name brand collaborations

Artists like Beyoncé and Rihanna have become forces to be reckoned with in modern fashion,” Fitzgerald shares.

At the same time the world’s most popular fashion house Gucci has been tailoring custom outfits for Billie EilishHarry StylesLana Del Rey and Phoebe Bridgers – I don’t think fashion and pop music have ever been more closely aligned than they are now.”

Giving Fans a Second Chance

Despite living in the golden era of artist-brand collaborations, fans often miss out.

Travis Scott and Rihanna’s collaborations often sell out within seconds.

For those who missed an item in a clothing drop, that one pair of Nike sneakers or that coloured vinyl,” Fitzgerald shares, “our store will give them a second chance.”

Items from vintage fashion collections and rare album formats will also have shoppers discovering items for the first time.

Carbon Neutral By 2022

The Glitter and Gold is mindful of the environmental impact the store will have.

When it comes to environmental issues big and small,” Riley Fitzgerald shares, “consumers are looking to brands to take responsibility.”

“I’m currently exploring what it will take to make The Glitter and Gold carbon-neutral by 2022.”
